PLACER COUNTY, Calif. (KXAN) — A California deputy responded to an unusual call this week and ended up rescuing a bear trapped in a parked car.
Video captured the moments the deputy smashed the car’s side window and sprinted out of the way. Moments later, a bear climbed over the front seats and wiggled out of the window. It ran off into the woods.
Somehow, the bear managed to get inside the Subaru Outback, but it caused so much damage the doors couldn’t be opened, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy decided the safest way to get it out was to break the window.
