NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (KXAN) — A raccoon faced with a life-or-death decision on a burning roof leaped to safety Friday afternoon.
Helicopter video showed the scared raccoon was on the roof’s edge for a few minutes before making the jump, flipping twice before hitting the roof of the porch below.
The animal then waddled off, probably a little bruised, to a safer home.
NBC New York reports the three-alarm fire broke out just after 1 p.m. on Delavan Street in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
No injuries were reported in the fire and the cause is unknown.
