VIDEO: Officer saves kitten trapped in middle of Michigan interstate

National News

LIVONIA, Mich. (KXAN) — The kitten was curled up against the concrete barrier on the side of the interstate in Michigan as cars whizzed by. A police car pulled up and an officer got out, approaching the kitten.

But the little black cat sprinted away, leaped on top of a concrete barrier and was about to jump over when the officer snatched her out of the air and put her in his patrol car.

She rode back to the police station as Officer Cameron Koss wondered how she had made it all the way to the middle of the road. When they arrived, she curled into his police cap. He and his fellow officers decided to call her Libbey. They took her to the Michigan Humane Society to get treated for an upper respiratory infection.

That all happened two and a half weeks ago, on May 5. Now little Libbey is ready for adoption.
