Rare first edition Harry Potter book sells for $90,000

National News

LONDON (KXAN) — An auction house in London has sold a first-edition copy of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” for more than $90,000.

There are only 500 copies of the book that exists and it belonged to J.K. Rowling’s first agent, and this copy also has a couple of typos.

The word “philosopher” is misspelled on the back cover and Harry’s list of required school supplies includes “one wand” two times.

Since its original release in 1997, more than 500-million Harry Potter books have been sold in 80 different languages.
