COACHELLA, CA (KXAN) — Authorities in California are looking for a woman who threw puppies into a dumpster Thursday.
The woman drove up behind an auto parts store in Coachella, gets out and tosses a bag in the trash.
Police say the plastic bag contained seven newborn puppies. The incident was caught on a surveillance camera.
A passerby found them and an employee of the auto parts store contacted animal services. The dogs are OK and now in the care of a rescue group.
Authorities in Riverside County plan to charge the woman with animal cruelty once she is identified.
