Law enforcement seeking pair of nursing home thieves in Kansas

National News

RUSSELL, Kansas (KSNW) — Authorities in Oklahoma and Kansas are looking for two women who stole personal items from multiple nursing homes, two of which are in Kansas.

Shonna Leiker encountered the women at Wheatland Nursing & Rehabilitation in Russell.

She first noticed two women roaming around the building dressed in scrubs.

“So when they came in and weren’t normal people, you ask them what they need, who are you here to see and things like that,” Leiker said. “And they couldn’t tell me.”

The women told Leiker they needed to use the restroom, but managed to steal an employee’s wallet during the seven minutes they were in the building until they were escorted out.

“I was watching them and kept asking what did you need,” Leiker said. “It got me off because they were in scrubs.”

Law enforcement in several states are asking for help identifying the two women.
