Families briefly reunited at ‘Border Hugs not Walls’ event

National News

TEXAS (KXAN) — Families were allowed to reunite Saturday at the U.S. Mexico border for a brief couple of minutes thanks to the Border Network for Human Rights.

The event titled ‘Hugs, Not Walls’ allows for those across the border to meet with their families in the U.S. without having to worry about immigration status.

This is the sixth time the Border Network for Human Rights has held this event, and over 240 families were able to participate.

Part of the border wall is already under construction near downtown El Paso as part of President Donald Trump’s executive order.
