‘Don’t skunk the beer.’ Canned animal rescued in Massachusetts

National News

Billerica, Mass. (WBTS/BAC) — Residents in a suburban Massachusetts neighborhood found a skunk in a peculiar predicament, with it’s head stuck in a beer can.

They called animal control, which tried to remove the can. Given the notoriety of the creature and its smelly craft, they proceeded with caution so as not to frighten or anger the animal.

It was later transported to the Tufts Wildlife Center and sedated.

Rest assured, the can was removed.

“I would think it was an accident. I don’t think anybody would do it on purpose. Besides if you got close to that skunk it would probably spray you, right?” pondered nearby resident, Jannett Bonasoro.

Animal Control Officials plan to monitor their white striped friend for a few days before releasing it back into the wild.
