A pet kangaroo was seen hopping along the side of a South Carolina highway on Monday.
Dash cam video showed the kangaroo had a deer-in-the-headlights moment as it came upon the approaching vehicle.
The McCormick County Sheriff’s Office received reports of the roo hopping in the forested areas near Clarks Hill, South Carolina, not far from Augusta, Georgia.
Curtis Holt recorded the video, obtained by NBC News. The kangaroo was later corralled by its owner and is safe back in its pen.
Officials say it is legal to have a pet kangaroo in South Carolina and the owner had all the proper documents.
