Several girls were forced to jump for their lives Monday when fire broke out in an Edgewater, New Jersey building.

Cell phone video shows the children making their harrowing escape as flames and smoke engulf the building, which housed the dance studio where they were rehearsing.

In the 40-second clip, a few of the children can be seen climbing down a ladder as a group of police and workers watch from the parking lot below.

Then the ladder tips over, forcing several children to leap off the balcony into the arms of the men waiting below. Officials say 10-15 girls had minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt.
