Caught on doorbell camera: Snake bites Oklahoma man in face

LAWTON, Okla. (CNN) -- Jerel Heywood walked up to his friend's house in Oklahoma on Sunday and did not get the greeting he was looking for.

Moments after opening the screen door, a snake lunged at Heywood and bit him in the face.

For all those wondering how you don't see a snake of that size, you can hear the man yell to his friend it came from his "mailbox." The snake was apparently wrapped around an attached porch light.

Screaming expletives, Heywood ran into his friend's house. His friend drove him immediately to the hospital.

Heywood had no idea if the snake was venomous. Luckily, doctors determined the snake was not.

The snake was not so lucky. Heywood's friend killed it after the attack.
