Jenna Bush-Hager joined the Today Show Monday morning for an emotional interview about her grandmother, who is not doing well.

“She’s in great spirits and she’s a fighter — she’s an enforcer,” Bush-Hager said.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush had been hospitalized recently and has decided not to pursue any more medical treatment, according to a family spokesperson. The 92-year-old is instead focusing on comfort care.

“She’s with my grandpa, the man she’s loved for over 73 years, and they are surrounded by family,” Bush-Hager said. “But I think the fact that they are together in this and he still says ‘I love you Barbie’ every night is pretty remarkable.”

Bush-Hager said the family is grateful for everyone’s prayers and thoughts.
