LOS ANGELES, California (KXAN / NBC) — Actor Luke Perry, best known for his roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Riverdale,” died Monday at the age of 52 at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a massive stroke, his representatives said. 

The actor was hospitalized Friday after suffering a massive stroke at his home in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of L.A., a spokesperson for Perry and officials told NBC news

Perry played brooding teenage heartthrob, Dylan McKay in “Beverly Hills, 90210” that aired from 1990 to 2000. Most recently, he was back in the spotlight with a younger audience when he played Fred Andrews on “Riverdale” a CW show based on the Archie comics. 

He was hospitalized the same day Fox announced it would reboot “Beverly Hills, 90210” for a six-episode series to air in the summer.
