Multiple people stabbed in south Austin Saturday morning, suspect in custody

AUSTIN (KXAN)– Austin police and Austin Travis County EMS are investigating a stabbing incident involving multiple victims in south Austin.

The incident happened at an apartment complex at 2301 Durwood St. EMS says they received the call at 8:49 a.m. EMS initially said five people were stabbed but APD says only two people were hurt.

Austin police say they received a call reporting that someone was bleeding and a suspect was running around with a knife. Police say when they arrived on scene they quickly detained the suspect. According to EMS all injuries are non-life threatening. One of the victims, a man in his 20’s has been transported to the South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries. No other victims were transported.

Police say the suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public. It is still unclear what led up to the incident.
