Man robs bank in Northwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Northwest Austin Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a man walked into the Amplify Federal Credit Union at 13050 Pond Springs Road around 2:10 p.m. and passed a note to the teller. The suspect left the bank with an unknown amount of money.

It does not appear the suspect displayed a weapon during the robbery. No one was injured.Suspect Description:

  • Black male
  • Approximately 40-50 years of age
  • Approximately 5’11″ in height and weighing 175 pounds


  • White UT baseball cap
  • White long sleeved shirt
  • Dark pants

This is Austin’s fifth bank robbery of 2016.
