AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man who was playing Pokemon Go while waiting at a bus stop in southeast Austin was robbed at gunpoint.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim was sitting at the bus stop at East Oltorf Street and South Pleasant Valley around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday when he was robbed. The victim told police he was playing Pokemon Go when the suspect walked up to him, pointed a gun and demanded his wallet.

The victim called police and they were able to apprehend the suspect, Corey Charlton, 30, a short distance away from the bus stop. Before the officers caught up to Charlton, he threw the victim’s wallet into the trash can, continued in the affidavit.

Charlton is currently in the Travis County Jail charged with aggravated robbery.

Police across the country are reminding people who are playing Pokemon Go to pay attention to their surroundings.
