A man in his 60s was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for a gunshot wound he sustained Wednesday morning.

Austin police said officers responded to a shooting call around 10:40 a.m. at North Pleasant Valley Road and East Second Street. Initial information indicates the shooting might have stemmed from an attempted robbery.

Police say the victim was at the bus stop when the suspect, described as a black man wearing a white and black horizontal striped shirt, approached him and spoke to him.

Austin-Travis County EMS says the victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say the victim’s knee was grazed by a bullet.
