SUNRISE BEACH VILLAGE, Texas (KXAN) — A swimmer drowned Tuesday evening in Lake LBJ.
A 911 call to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office was made around 7:45 p.m., reporting a man swimming in water next to a boat who was having trouble. The caller said the swimmer went underwater and had not come back up.
Sunrise Beach Police and Sunrise Beach Fire responded to Beach Drive where they began their search for the man. Divers went into the water to search for the swimmer, as multiple agencies joined the effort to find him.
The search was suspended at 11:30 p.m and resumed at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. At around 11:30 a.m., the man’s body was found.
The victim’s identity will not be released until the family is notified.
