Man dies nine days after crash in East Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN)- A man involved in a two-car collision in East Austin on July 3 succumbed to his injuries nine days later.

Around 1:42p.m. on Friday July 3 a 2005 Black Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound in the 3100 block of Govalle Avenue failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Tillery Street. The driver hit a 2014 Maroon Honda Accord that was heading north.

The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. He died as a result of his injuries on Sunday, July 12 at 9:10p.m.

This case is still being investigated. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-6935.
