AUSTIN (KXAN) — One of the low points of the Texas baseball came at Arkansas when they lost back to back games to the Razorbacks in March. Those losses were their 4th and 5th in a row after losing three straight for Stanford. That has to feel like years ago for this Texas team after their 5-2 win over Tennessee Tech on Monday to capture the Super Regional and earn a spot at the College World Series where they will face off against Arkansas on Sunday. The Razorback beat South Carolina 14-4 on Monday to win the Fayetteville Regional and punch their ticket to Omaha.
Texas Tech is also in UT’s four team bracket, the Red Raiders beat Duke on Monday to win the Lubbock Regional. Texas Tech will take on Florida in their CWS opening game on Sunday.
While there are eight teams at the College World Series, its really two four team double elimination tournaments with the winners advancing to the Best of 3 Championship Series.
