WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Cranes and construction crews have taken over Cambria Drive as they start remediation work on Cambria Cavern.
The cave, which was discovered in the Brushy Creek neighborhood in early February, will eventually be sealed off to the public.
The contractor is currently excavating the 200-foot long cave and the debris that fell down into the cave when its roof collapsed.
Over the next few months, the cave will be sealed off to protect the water quality and allows for the road to be reopened. The only portion of the cave that will be filled will be under Williamson County’s right-of-way.
