BARTLETT, Texas (KXAN) — A 22-year-old woman has died after a shooting Friday in a small community in northeast Williamson County.
Police officers in the city of Bartlett found the body of Stormie Devon Callison, 22, inside a home in the 600 block of W. Jackson Street.
A lengthy search involving several law enforcement agencies and a heat-sensing drone led to the arrest Saturday morning of Archie Samuel Rogers Jr. in Burnet County. Williamson County sheriff’s deputies booked him on a murder charge.
The arresting affidavit reports that Callison met Rogers met through an adult website. Rogers told officers Callison agreed to meet at his apartment to have sex for $600. According to Rogers after having sex Callison increased the price to $1000, at which point Rogers “freaked out” and shot her.
Callison’s loved ones are working to preserve her memory. A fundraiser has been set up now through GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs and to start a scholarship in her name.
Korbi Keiter, who used to live and work with Callison in Lubbock, remembered her former roommate.
“She’d walk into any room and light it up,” Keiter explained. “[She was] always smiling, dancing, just the life of the party, so sweet. Always willing to help anyone who needed her, willing to put out a helping hand in any situation. Super outgoing, just one of the nicest people I ever met.”
Callison’s family members told KXAN that they are grieving this tough, unexpected loss and planning all the arrangements.
Rogers, the murder suspect, remains in jail, where his bond has been set at $500,000.
