WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A police chase has ended after deputies chased down robbery suspects.

Sheriff Robert Chody tweeted that Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies were chasing the robbery suspects toward Travis County from U.S. Highway 281.

Chody said there were two suspects and they got away. He says after learning more about what type of robbery the two were suspected of and the public risk involved in the chase, they decided to call the chase off.

Chody’s initial tweet said they were in the Leander area but a follow-up tweet said the chase had made its way to the Liberty Hill area near the Burnet County line at County Road 288.

The sheriff’s office is advising people to stay away from the area.
