SUV hits school bus, then drives off in Cedar Park, sheriff says

Williamson County

CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — Deputies are searching for a driver who hit a school bus in Cedar Park Monday morning and then drove off.

It happened at 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of Hatch Road, next to El Salido Parkway. The bus, which was transporting Leander ISD special needs students and in the process of loading one of them, was sideswiped, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. No one was hurt.

The bus had a front-facing camera that reportedly caught the SUV driving away.

“So to the vehicle that fled the scene, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit will be investigating this and YOU WILL BE CAUGHT,” the sheriff’s office tweeted.

Sheriff Robert Chody tweeted footage of the sideswipe later Monday afternoon.
