Round Rock’s historic Stagecoach Inn began a journey to a new home on Saturday.
It is moving from its current location on Round Rock Avenue to the Bathing Beach near Chisholm Trail Crossing Park to make way for the expansion of Ranch to Market Road 620.
The move is happening in stages. On Friday, crews lifted the inn off its foundation.
The next day, they moved it down a hill and over railroad tracks near Chisolm Trail.
On Sunday, the historic lodging will be trucked down 620, and there will be road closures. Beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday morning, the intersection of RM 620 and Chisholm Trail will be completely closed to traffic, the traffic signals will be removed to make way for the building.
It will likely take 15-30 minutes for the building to clear the intersection.
Officers will manage traffic at the intersection for another hour to two-and-a-half hours while traffic signals are reinstalled.
Drivers are advised to find alternate routes Sunday morning to avoid delays.
The city says it hopes to have the inn positioned in its new home by Sunday night.
