ROUND ROCK (KXAN) — Police and SWAT officers reopened streets in a Round Rock neighborhood after searching for hours for an assault suspect who was reportedly barricaded in their home.
Police responded at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday to a home on the 1500 block of Lance Lane near Highway 79 to investigate a domestic assault call. When the suspect would not leave their home and police realized they had a parole violation, officers notified the SWAT team.
The suspect may have been armed and as officers responded it was unknown if anyone else was in the home. After hours of closing the streets in the neighborhood, officers left at about 2 a.m. Thursday when they couldn’t find the suspect.
Police believe the suspected assault was an isolated incident which they continue to investigate.
