Round Rock High School math teacher killed in crash on I-35

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A Round Rock High School math teacher was killed in a crash on northbound Interstate Highway 35 in Round Rock.

According to Round Rock police, 67-year-old Michael Shaheen was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Thursday. Shaheen, who taught Algebra II and Math Models, had been a teacher with Round Rock ISD since 2003.

In an announcement Friday, RRHS Principal Matt Groff described Shaheen as “beloved by staff and students alike.”

Investigators are currently performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
