WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department’s bomb squad detonated a military explosive after residents found it during their garage remodel near Elgin on Sunday afternoon.
Austin police said they got a call about the incident just before 3:30 p.m. to the 3900 block of County Road 463. They sent two units with the bomb squad to investigate.
Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said the device had been detonated just after 5:30 p.m.

It is unknown how the device got there or where it came from.
