GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Georgetown police say a man shot his girlfriend and her daughter, and then himself at a house in the northwest part of the city on Thursday night.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at about 8:10 p.m. on Tiffany Lane.

Georgetown Police Captain Roland Waits said Ruben Tobias Jr., 37, grabbed a gun from his bedroom after an argument with his girlfriend’s 15-year-old daughter.

Waits said Tobias then shot both the girlfriend and her daughter multiple times. After he shot them, Waits then said Tobias shot himself.

The daughter and Tobias were pronounced dead at scene.

The girlfriend was able to get out of the house with the help of a neighbor. She was treated at a Georgetown hospital and her vital signs are stable, Waits said.

Waits said there was also a 13-year-old boy in the house during the incident, but he was able to get out and was unharmed.
