One dead, one hurt after shooting at Round Rock apartment complex

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — One man has died, and another was hurt after they were shot Monday in Round Rock, police said.

Round Rock police officers began investigating the double shooting at the Cordevalle Apartments, located in the 650 block of Louis Henna Boulevard.

Police said no arrests have been made yet. They're waiting to identify the man who died after his family is notified.

One neighbor told KXAN off camera that she heard what sounded like a firework Monday morning, then she noticed all the police officers arrive at the building across from hers.

Skeye Sullivan, who lives in a neighboring apartment complex, expressed her concern that a fatal shooting happened so close to her place.

"Upon learning that someone was murdered right in front of my apartment, it's kind of scary," Sullivan said. "My mom's bedroom window is right there, and there's concern about wayward bullets and things of that nature. This is not the first time we've had this many cops out here."

Police sent an email about the investigation at about 11:15 a.m., but did not specify when the shooting happened.

"It is believed this is an isolated incident with no continued threat to the public," spokesman Nick Olivier wrote in an email.
