Lightning strike sparks house fire in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A house fire in Round Rock was started by a lightning strike late Friday night, officials say.

The Round Rock Fire Department responded to the fire in the 3800 block of Octavia Lane at 11:49 p.m. When they arrived, the fire on the second floor of the home had spread to the attic and had started to vent through the roof.

Fire crews were able to get the fire out about an hour later. There were no injuries.

The fire caused approximately $100,000 in damage, officials say.
