Suspected package thief arrested in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Deputies in Williamson County arrested the man suspected of stealing almost a dozen packages from front porches throughout a sprawling neighborhood.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said they booked Dustin Alan Pruitt into the Williamson County Jail on Sunday.

Deputies began looking for a man on November 8 after he was seen on several neighbors’ security cameras swapping empty boxes for packages delivered to homes in the Teravista neighborhood. At the time investigators said the suspect stole 11 packages.

It’s unclear how Pruitt was apprehended, though deputies stepped up patrols after the thefts and shared video from one victim’s house.

Jail records show Pruitt is being held on a $5,000 bond right now for two theft warrants from Dallas County and a drug warrant from Tarrant County.
