CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — Cedar Park police have identified a man shot and killed Sunday night at an apartment complex as 22-year-old Austin Robert Burroughs who was active-duty military with the U.S. Air Force.

At about 9:15 p.m., law enforcement responded to the Lakeline Villas Apartments at the 2200 block of South Lakeline Blvd after multiple callers reported a shooting. Police found Burroughs dead with a gunshot wound.

Police say Burroughs and a woman arrived at the apartment complex in their car and parked. Initial investigations show a suspect approached Burroughs and shot him.

Officials are still searching for the suspect who is described as “a thin build, black male, average height, wearing an orange or red colored hoodie and dark sweatpants,” officials wrote. “The suspect left the scene in a grey or silver colored hatchback.” Police say the suspect was allegedly armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
