Armed group of suspects steal guns from Taylor man

Williamson County

TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) — Police in Taylor are searching for suspects who broke into a home and robbed the homeowner of several of his firearms Tuesday night.

Police say the robbery happened in the 2900 block of South Main Street around 8:40 p.m. The victim was in his yard cutting the grass when the suspects arrived.

Four or five men took the victim inside and robbed him at gunpoint after hitting him on the head with a shotgun.

“This is an unusual crime for Taylor,” said Cmdr. Joseph Branson. “It’s a crime that shocks the senses.”

“It’s just something like that never happened around here,” said the victim’s neighbor Stephen Morrison.

The suspects stole several firearms and other personal items before leaving in a gray Nissan Armada. The men, described as Hispanic and between the ages of 18-24 years old, were all wearing white t-shirts, blue denim shorts and white bandanas covering the bottom half of their faces.

“I just hope they catch them, I do, I really do,” said Morrison.

The victim, who said he does not know the suspects, had minor injuries.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Taylor Police Sgt. Sam Brister at (512) 352-5551.
