3 injured in Round Rock train crash

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Crews rescued three people after they were injured in a train crash in Round Rock Sunday afternoon. 

The Round Rock Fire Department posted on Facebook that they were called to the crash about 500 feet west of A.W. Grimes Boulevard along Highway 79 around 1 p.m. 

The post said crews from Union Pacific were working on the lines when two of the construction trains crashed on an elevated part of the tracks. There were three people onboard the trains at the time. 

They were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

It is unknown at this time what caused the crash.
