A Lake Travis Fire Rescue engineer who crashed after blacking out behind the wheel of a fire truck on Ranch to Market 620 is being released from the hospital according to the fire department.

Officials said medical tests have “come back clear.” Doctors said William Tatsch blacked out due to a rare case of a presumed vasovagal syncope or “common faint.” Tatsch will continue to be off duty as he receives care for a concussion

Tatsch and three other firefighters were injured Friday when the fire truck that Tatsch was driving crashed at RM 620 and Comanche Trail. Six other people were taken to the hospital.

All of the firefighters have been released from the hospital.
