Fundraiser for Pflugerville officer's daughter needing transplant

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) -- More than a thousand people showed up to help fundraise for a Pflugerville police officer's daughter needing a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

The Law Enforcement Association of Pflugerville organized the fundraiser for 9-year-old Camryn Escobedo. She was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, which is a rare blood disease.

She needs life-saving bone marrow transplant and blood transfusions.

The organization hosted a barbecue fundraiser, raffle, blood donation and bone marrow registration to help Camryn and her family.

"The community of Pflugerville came together with the police department to support a family in need and what this is showcasing is a servant heart," said Jessica Robledo, Pflugerville Police Chief.

The more people who register with the bone marrow registry, the better chance she has to find a match.

To register, go to Bethematch.org.
