AUSTIN (KXAN) — One of the first babies born in 2019 in the Central Texas area arrived at Seton Medical Center in Austin, officials say.

Baby Hector James Nieto was born at 12:01 a.m. He weighed 10 pounds, 9 ounces and was 22 inches tall. Hector’s mother Reyna Jame Nieto is from Mexico City.

Another early 2019 baby was born at St David’s HealthCare in Round Rock Medical Center at 12:14 a.m. Her name is Gracelyn Karpov. A second baby was born just two minutes later, officials wrote in a press release.

Gracelyn’s not the first unique birthday in her family. Her brother was born Dec. 26, and her mother Leslie’s birthday is Christmas day. Leslie and her husband Leon were happily surprised when they found out they were having a girl, since boys seem to run in the family. “After that, everything changed,” Leslie Karpov said.

“Princess stuff, pink and glitter stuff — that’s all I’m about,” Leslie Karpov added.
