Suspicious package found in downtown Austin not a threat, area cleared

Police are investigating a possibly suspicious package found in the area of the 400 block of West Second Street in downtown Austin Sunday afternoon (KXAN/Todd Bynum)

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The scene has been cleared Sunday afternoon after police investigated a suspicious package found in the area of the 400 block of West Second Street in downtown Austin.

The package was found near an Austin-Travis County EMS station, ATCEMS reports.

ATCEMS says Austin police bomb squad investigated and rendered the package was no further threat.
