Woman’s body found along Colorado River south of Kingsland

Hill Country

BURNET COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A body was found in Burnet County along the Colorado River during heavy rainfall and flooding Tuesday.

The woman’s body was discovered near Circle Drive between Kingsland and Granite Shoals, according to State Rep. Terry Wilson.

Kimble County emergency coordinator Randy Millican says the body recovered in the Colorado River may be a woman missing from flooding in an RV park in Junction, Texas — more than 80 miles away. The woman in Junction and three men were swept away on Oct. 8.

The bodies of the three men have already been recovered.

Officials are awaiting positive identification of the woman from the medical examiner.

Evacuations have been implemented in areas along the Colorado River including in Granite Shoals and Marble Falls.
