BURNET, Texas (KXAN) — It could take a year to learn what caused the vintage WWII plane Bluebonnet Belle to crash in Burnet with 13 people on board.

The National Transportation Safety Board is now on scene to begin its investigation. Officials say a full report won’t be out for six months to a year.

The Bluebonnet Belle will be removed from the crash site in the next few days and taken to a secure location where the NTSB will try to determine what went wrong.

Investigators are asking any witnesses to come forward.

Two people were taken to the hospital, one with serious burns.

The Burnet Municipal Airport will be closed until the plane is moved and any repairs needed to the runway can be made.
