Skeletal remains found in Llano County

Hill Country
Generic file police lights

A ranch owner called the Llano County Sheriff’s Office on April 1 and told them about finding human remains on his property. It wasn’t an April Fool’s prank.

LCSO deputies and investigators responded to the ranch in the western part of the county. For the past three days, they’ve combed the area for evidence and recovered the skeleton, with help from the Texas Rangers, Horseshoe Bay Police Department, the Department of Public Safety, the Texas State University Department of Anthropology and the Search Dog Network.

Officials have not yet determined what caused the person’s death or his or her identity — which could take months.
