FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (KXAN) — A resort promising to be the first full-service hotel property in Fredericksburg is planning to break ground this fall and open in early 2020.
The 150-room, $76 million Seven Hills Resort and Conference Center is to be located on a 22-acre plot on the west end of Fredericksburg, at the intersection of US 290 West and US 87.
Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, construction and the design of the resort will be overseen by Austin-based The Beck Group, while the developer is Houston-based Murphree and Company.
The resort will be managed by Benchmark Global Hospitality, based in The Woodlands.
“City leadership has worked with us in true partnership to create something of immense value to Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country,” said Murphree and Company managing partner Dennis Murphree. “Our hope is to design and build a project that looks like it has always been a part of the Fredericksburg landscape.”
The hotel will feature 17,500-square feet of conference center space, a rooftop bar, spa, outdoor amphitheater, and a retail and restaurant village.
The resort is aiming to attract mid-week corporate and association groups that currently do not have a single space in Fredericksburg to meet their needs.
“The resort will also be attractive to the leisure travel market as a full-service hotel – a market niche currently missing in Fredericksburg,” said Ernie Loeffler, president/CEO of the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau.
