AUSTIN (KXAN) — To celebrate Earth Day, Hill Country Conservancy, H-E-B and Texas Beer Company are launching a charity collaboration beer.
The new charity collaboration beer is called Wild Texas Kolsch and will be sold in nearly 100 H-E-B stores across Texas.
“We came up with this idea for an environmental charity collaboration, because Texas Beer Company is a solar-powered brewery” Davis said. “It’s important to us that we preserve Texas for future generations.”
Every April, H-E-B celebrates Earth Day by honoring EarthShare of Texas with a monthly tear pad campaign that collects donations for local charities.
A portion of the beer sales will be donated to HCC to help protect Texas Hill Country’s water supply and wide-open spaces.
“We’re protecting the places you go camping, we’re protecting the streams that you fish in, we’re protecting the night skies,” Jacobs said. “All of the things people like to do outdoors are always just a little bit more fun with a beer in their hand.”
A press conference was held Wednesday at Dive Bar Austin. CEO and Founder of Texas Beer Company Ian Davis spoke along with Fleetwood Jacobs, the director of development at HCC.
