Kingsland man identified as person who was pulled out of Llano River

KINGSLAND, Texas (KXAN) — The body of a man who was pulled from the Llano River over Memorial Day weekend has been identified as 38-year-old Jarod Lee Layton of Kingsland. 

The Llano County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday around 4:20 p.m., a person knocked on the door of a home in the 6700 block of River Oaks in Kingsland and said he had just pulled a man’s body out of the river. The area where he was pulled out of is known to as the “Slab,” which is a popular swimming area. 

Layton’s body suffered no apparent trauma. Authorities are waiting on autopsy results to determine how he died.
