San Marcos police respond to string of business burglaries

San Marcos, Texas (KXAN) — Three businesses in San Marcos have been targeted by a burglar.

The break-ins happened on Sunday evening and Monday morning, according to police.

Zelicks Icehouse and The Green Parrot in Downtown San Marcos were hit, and so was Sunset Lanes on State Highway 123. Gary Gilbert is the owner of Sunset Lanes bowling alley and says nothing was taken from his business.

“My alarm went off at 6:28 a.m. and it woke me up and I thought it was my floor guy.”

The suspect was caught on surveillance footage driving a two-tone sedan and parking near a back door to the bowling alley. The suspect used a crowbar to pry the door open and walk in. The office and storage facility of the place was suspect’s destination, but nothing of note was reported stolen.

“He didn’t steal from me, he stole from God,” says Gilbert. “I forgive him.”

Police say they are still looking for the suspect. If you know anything about this case, call the police in San Marcos at (512) 753-2108.
