Neighbors search for answers in Buda area homicide

BUDA, Texas (KXAN) — Investigators still aren’t releasing much information about a man found murdered in a home near Buda late last month. Neighbors on his street say they’re tired of waiting for answers.

“It’s devastating for the neighborhood,” said Shadow Creek neighbor Lacey Stone.

Stone has only heard of small calls drawing one or two police cars, never a full crime scene.

“There were lots of police cars and crime scene tape,” said Stone.

Investigators say 36-year-old Brandon Fontenette was found dead inside the home. Fontenette’s family tells KXAN he did not live at this home.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office says there’s no public safety concern, adding that they still don’t have a suspect in custody, leaving neighbors with questions.

“I wish they would put out more details and really let us know what happened so that it would put a lot more people at ease,” said Stone.
