Man convicted of sexual assault, impregnating pre-teen girl

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man in Kyle was convicted of sexual assault of a child Monday after impregnating a pre-teen girl back in 2015.

Jose Alejandro-Najarro, 55, was accused of having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old child and impregnating her. Najarro denied the charges before the trial, but a DNA test proved that he was indeed the father of the newborn baby.

Najarro was sentenced to 70-years in prison.

“The loss of innocence suffered by a child who is made to endure what this defendant did is incalculably tragic,” said Hays County Criminal District Attorney Wes Mau. “Alejandro-Najarro took advantage of a child’s trust and robbed her of choices that most of us take for granted as we grow from children to men and women. No sentence can ever return that to her. The jury clearly understood that.”
