Fourth victim in deadly RR 12 Hays County crash dies

WIMBERLEY, Texas (KXAN) — A 12-year-old Wimberley girl whose parents died in a fiery crash on Ranch Road 12 earlier this month has died after spending nearly two weeks in the hospital.

A GoFundMe page for the Masullo family says Abigail Masullo died Tuesday night. “Please continue to pray for the entire family and all that have been impacted by this tragedy,” wrote Kelly Whitney on the GoFundMe page.

Abigail’s parents, Angela, 40, and Daniel Masullo, 44, died on Friday, June 15 when Ramiro Ramirez, 22, of Wimberley, crossed the center line and slammed head-on into the Masullo family’s SUV in Hays County. Ramirez’s pickup truck also caught on fire. He also died at the scene.

Abigail’s brother was also in the SUV and is currently recovering from his injuries.

Dan Masullo was part owner of The Junction, a trailer food park in Wimberley. On Wednesday all of the trailers donated some portion of their profits to the mourning family.

“We love each other. I grew up here, so it’s of those things that when a tragedy happens or something, we always come together,” said Dallin Vetuski. Vetuski says he didn’t know the couple but traveled from San Marcos to donate.

“This place, it’s not the same without him,” said Tacos Nine trailer owner Sandra Deleon. “Everything in this place has his sign. They were a nice, nice family.”

Deleon was one of the first food trailers to move in. She says she and Dan had the same dream of making it in the food truck industry. Dan helped her achieve her dream, so she’s doing what she can to help the mourning family.

“Maybe it’s not lots of money, but it’s a way that we can do,” Deleon said.

A fundraising page has also been set up for Ramirez. According to the page, he left behind a wife and a 1-year-old son.

DPS investigators say Ramirez was not passing any other cars when he began driving down the wrong side of the road. DPS officials say they are still waiting on autopsy and toxicology reports.
