BUDA, Texas (KXAN) — Even with rain this weekend, the city of Buda is implementing Stage 2 water restrictions starting Monday, Aug. 13.
During Stage 2, residents cannot water their lawn between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and when they do water, they must do so on their designated day.
Filling up pools with city water is also prohibited during this time.
The Barton Springs-Edwards Aquifer Conservation District manages pumping from the Edwards Aquifer, and through its policies, it can curtail the city of Buda’s pumping rights by as much as 40 percent during times of drought.
Anyone who violates this ordinance could be fined between $100 and $500 and be subject to utility surcharges.
